Product: Miller High Life "Car Thief"
The Client: Michael Victor - Director
Cinematic Treatment: Michael loves visual images that are sharp with a heightened sense of reality. Because of this we used a 45% camera shutter, as well as Zeiss Ultra Prime lenses because of their crispness.
In this spot our Miller High Life bottle is in fact very much a character in the story, so I paid particular attention to lighting the bottle in a table top glamorous way. The 45% shutter helped a lot with making the bubbles on the bottle more pronounced, while I utilized backlight to give the bottle a continuous sparkle and warm glow. Much of the spot takes place in and around the car, so I used a Schneider True Polarizer extensively to control reflections.
Michael is very specific about using frame rates to punctuate the impact he is trying to achieve with each particular shot. Most of the shots were filmed at 36 or 48 FPS. We shot this spot in the super 35mm format, our first rate camera package was provided to us courtesy of Rufus and all my friends at the Camera House. www.thecamerahouse.com
